Bio
Dutch Senft (b. 2002 in Baltimore, MD) lives and works in Charlottesville, VA. He graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.S. from the McIntire School of Commerce, alongside a major in Studio Art and a minor in Art History. He is an incoming Aunspaugh Fellow for the ‘25-’26 academic year at the Unversity of Virginia.
Compelled to action after his older brother Archer, also an artist, became a quadriplegic in 2015, he began painting in his teens. Since then, his work has ranged from large-scale acrylic collaborations with his brother to surreal oil paintings that stage the emotional absurdities of college life. Through his work, Dutch navigates the complexity and contradictions of being an artist, business student, sibling, and fraternity brother—with sincerity, humor, and an eye toward emotional truth.
